LA Meets DC

All things style from both sides of the US collected by an L.A. bred, Anglo- and Francophile, South Asian girl who is now in D.C.

That’s my sister at SXSW! She’s wearing my dress, by the way. Check out her music + style blog, Pompadour & Circumstance

Yesterday’s outfit incorporated two favorite colors, cobalt and turquoise, a but of neon, and a classic Missoni scarf to tue everything together and provide a but if coverage.

Love the pleats and bows

Anyone know where I can get a skirt like hers, real or faux leather, that does NOT cost a bajillion dollars? Sort of obsessed with finding a full leather skirt now.

You know, it sucks having nice clothes and awesome outfits but no occasion or place to wear them for or to.

The colored denim trend is one I am fully behind. We all definitely need more color in our lives because too many people fall back on grey, beige, and black, me included. I used to love crazy, colorful prints when I was younger, but as I and my tastes mature, so does my wardrobe. The wild prints are now reserved to smaller accessories and a few select pieces (and a pair of leopard print shoes). To be honest, I have yet to purchase a pair of colored jeans, but red ones, though ubiquitous, would be fun. These neon takes above are fun, too, though, and I could see myself wearing the turquoise ones, especially in spring and summer.

Can I have all these? Well, minus the sheer dress because I’d never wear that, but the rest of it is beautiful and wearable in gorgeous colors. I love any modern spins on ’40s and ’50s styles.

Did anyone else not know that Target had a tumblr?

The Jason Wu for Target Poplin from sketch to dress

Did not know Target had a tumblr, but that’s beside the point.
The point is: I NEED THIS DRESS! I love dresses with fitted waists and full skirts because they suit my shape the best, but they are SO hard to find. This one is not going to go out of style.
